My head was spinning when i read this too. A Ja-ja Binks yard dog is footballer of the year. Its come to this ffs.

Its like the media have to do anything they can to try and mitigate the huge damp squib of the asterisk title win for them.
It's beyond bizzare. If you look at the stats TAA is way above St Hendo. He isn't even the best player in their team.
Once again the media create and drive their own narrative. It really does make you tired of football.
Whats the betting he also wins PFA player of the year award also?

if anyone seriously considers him a better footballer than De Bruyne they’re crazy.
Kyle Walker beat Sergio Aguero to YPOTY back in Aguero's debut season. Yaya Toure was unplayable in 2014 and dragged his team almost single handedly to the title. He came third to a racist and a man whose arrogance and complacency actually cost his team the title. KDB was cheated out of it the year Salah won it and this year, it again looks like he will lose out to a water carrier. Not just managers. Mancini won our first title in 44 years and ended MUFC dominance, they gave MOTY to Alan Pardew. . Manuel Pellegrini won a league and cup double in his first year, he didn't win it either, instead they gave it to Tony Pulis. There's a trend here.

you’ve committed the crime of having local fans who are mostly level headed. If sky run a story of ‘Aguero wins poty’ some of your fans in and around Manchester might read it in their lunch break maybe once. If they run a story that says ‘Henderson wins poty’, almost every Liverpool fan across the world will read it, probably more than once, will send it to all their Liverpool mates, will send it to their non Liverpool mates, will Instagram it and tweet it. Oh and they’ve probably clicked every single advert that accompanied the story as well because they will literally buy anything. That is the difference right there, they are completely unique as a fan base, even Arsenal or Chelsea fans can’t be milked as much. The top sports stories on any news site will be LFC ones and the second most popular will be anti Everton or anti City ones because the same mindless pack of Orcs will be clicking those too.

If anyone thinks & believes that the PL isn't biased to the two teams who play in red shirts then they are deluded.
The stats actually prove it. Those two teams are what the whole business model of the PL is based upon.

What stats?

I’m not arguing against big club bias per se, I think a lot of it is possibly unconscious. But it’s not as if the two clubs have dominated of late which you’d expect with explicit bias.

One just went 30 years without a title and the other has gone 7 years and counting.

Have sky arranged the fixtures for next season yet, which starts on the 12th September?

I await with baited breath, to see that most of Murderpool fcs "historically" tougher away fixtures/top 6/palace just for crystanbul, will take place when there are zero fans in the grounds at the start of the season.

That's how corrupt footy is currently.

The VAR decisions this season have not been 'unconcious bias' (in my opinion for what it is worth). It has been explicit bias.
The 30 year & 7 year gap is the exact reason for explicit bias. The favourable VAR decisions this season for Liverpool
have been nothing but outrageous. VAR has been the method used to assist them. The PL need Liverpool & United to
be successful for their business model.
So they will be successful...

The PL didnt stop City buying some more defenders. Nor did they appoint rookie managers at Arsenal, United and Chelsea.

And if it is so bent, how come RS havnt won it for 30 years?

Trouble is VAR is such a mess, it gives mileage to claims of corruption, when the actual reasons are arrogance, (PL refs make their own VAR rules up), and uselessness.

ESPN have a roundup and the RS are way behind the likes of Brighton and Burnley in favourable VAR overturns. Even breaking it down to strictly "subjective" VAR decisions they've had 2 for and 2 against.

A lot of us completely ignore the facts that don't fit into the LiVARpool narrative.

For most of those 30 years they didn’t have a teal anywhere near good enough to win it. You could argue they didn’t in 13/14 either yet got helped to a challenge by an unbelievable amount of penalties and dodgy decisions. They shouldn’t have challenged last season.Remember the Fulham game? The rules of football were just suspended for them at times. This season they probably would have won it anyway but the margin has been embarassing, from game one its been decision after decision going their way to make sure it definitely happened.

Similarly there were a few title wins under Fergie where you felt the team probably shouldn’t have won on paper but somehow ended up a couple of points ahead of Chelsea Arsenal or City. This current side shouldn’t be anywhere near the top 4 but they’ll end up on the favourable side of decisions against Leicester no question l, and they’re already setting a record for most penalties in a season.

I didnt say that VAR and refs are not influenced by the teams they are reffing, just that its not an organised conspiracy. That some think it is.

it’s not just which VAR decisions have been right or wrong though. The match officials have controlled games this season by deciding what does or doesn’t go to VAR. Calvert Lewin foiled by Van Dijk didn’t even get a VAR review. TAA’s tackle against Arsenal got a review but was deemed as confirming the onfield decision which was a yellow despite identical tackles being given as serious foul play and red cards when refs have gone straight to VAR. Mane against Leicester the ref gives a pen and points to the spot and the decision becomes ‘is there any reason why the onfield decision isn’t correct’, as soon as there’s the slightest bit of contact the decision is vindicated even though it doesn’t even look a foul. Countless other times that incident is waved away and a quick VAR check (of it even occurs) confirms that there’s no pen. The game for us against Southampton was a perfect example, Ings is given supported by VAR, Gordon’s isn’t and VAR supported that too although any neutral watching would have said objectively that the incidents were at least equal with Gordon’s if anything more of a penalty. The system is being influenced all the time but afterwards they can say that the margin of error was tiny and it didn’t favour any club more than others.
