If you see something you love being systematically destroyed from within, you make a noise but if that noise is in an echo chamber then how do you win?

Most if not all on here only what what is best for your club as all fans do and you see it time and time again fans talking logical stuff but not being listened to.

Even if you changed management both on and off field the damage looks like it is terminal for this season.

Hope is a great and terrible thing yet it's the hope that keeps you returning season after season but conversely it's hope that makes you feel the worst this sport can make you feel because it's in your heart.

Do you honestly think there is a way forward without dropping a division?

No but it is a good point, I'm just as guilty all fans are, you think you have turned a corner, when we took Chelsea apart early in the season I stupidly thought this is it, our time has come, but deep down I knew it hadn't but that 1 win papered over the cracks we all knew were there.

We as fans are just as fickle, and any ray of light/hope we cling to.

Some think going down is for the best.

I can't phathom it.

It's our only thing to be proud of ...only 4 seasons outside the top flight.

The touch paper is lit now at EFC, if they think there's a chance that a few wins will pacify fans who have had their good names dragged through the mud then they're (and you're) wrong.

There's fan groups reaching back decades who want Kenwright gone. Unfortunately it's just taken us to reach this point before it kicked the apathetic masses into action.


Did you read the Twitter thread I posted earlier? What did you think?

I had a quick look but will take the time to look at it properly when I get home.

But again thank you for the link, I know we follow different teams but it really feels like the sport not just our own clubs are being taken away from us, and I've felt like that for years.

I'd say so many are angry today because they feel stupid for allowing Kenwright to mug them off for so long.

More and more are waking up to the fact that he doesn't give a crap about the club, he's a vain, desperate old man looking for the adulation of 1000s as though he's our number 9.

He didn't spend a penny of his own money whilst the majority shareholder, trousered a fortune when selling and convinced our current owner that he's the best man to run it for him.

Luckily his days are numbered, but the damage is done. We'll be lucky to survive this fight, even luckier to bounce back.

I’m glad you attributed the apathy of the fans to the wider fan base because different groups like the Blue Union and to a lesser content KEITC were not really taken seriously although they consisted of genuine Everton fans, I have been writing to the Liverpool Echo, which I haven’t bought for a few years, around 2006 and posting on Toffeeweb for about ten years or so about the way Kenwright has abused his running of Everton FC, which has been tolerated by the majority of Everton fans and even now after the last few days I bet an awful lot of fans would say “ He’s not that bad“ when the lies and deceit of the man have been laid before them, hopefully as you say his days are numbered but the damage he has done will take a long time to repair, if ever.
 
Well in 1878 someone created a football club on top of an ancient sacred burial ground. The bodies were dug up and their bones were used for posts (another Everton first) and skulls as decorative goblets for supporters to drink out of.

Some say when this happened we were cursed forever. But it was actually when Moshiri dissed Lukaku's mum is when the gates of hell were really unleashed on us.
