Personally I think we should have prioritised a Right Back, but what do I know about football.
Having watched them play, well 2 of them, I went with a 7.0
Snakes &Ladders time;
If we could bring in the keepie-uppy Vs Arsenal version of Coleman I might go to 7.5.
If nobody else comes its down the snake to 6.0
If we get decent fees for James and Kean...back up the ladder to 7.0
If they both stay back down to 6.5
If they start playing half decent back up to a 7.0

So a provisional 7-ish

Personally I think we should have prioritised a Right Back, but what do I know about football.
I watched the highlights that Everton released from the Southhampton game, specifically focused on Townsend and Gray, I was blown away, I thought Gray, in particular, demonstrated someone who
1) Has a point to prove
2) Has matured enough to realise that in many ways this is his last chance to impress and he has to grab it.

You watch that cross that DCL nearly heads into the goal and that knowing nod and a cheeky smile that speaks volumes and shouts out that's what I have been waiting for.. let's be honest that's what we have all been waiting for players with pace....2 great additions to the team for £1.5 million - I think we will come back to the signing of Gray and think how did that happen?

You look at the players we are being linked with, it's smart business and I think for the first time in several seasons we are going to come out of this transfer window with real kudos and envy.

At the moment, it has to be 10:

• Squad better than it was at the start of the window? Yes.

• Squad good enough to beat Southampton? Yes.

We still have two weeks to go until it shuts and have more games between now and then. Depending on the results and transfers in & out, this is massively subject to change. But so far so good.
I wish I could marry somebody as easy to please

ah.. an attempt to derail the thread by asking an off-topic question. Being a nice person I shall humour you by answer it rather than reporting you.

I imagine I shall not receive a single present again just like last year. I did receive three cards however, though two of them were automated from companies.
I am expecting a similar bumper haul this Christmas.

Unfortunately, I must be on Santa's naughty list or something.

Now back to rating our summer transfer window please.
I did rate it ... 10.

I'd have said how do you think the transfer window will end out of 10.

makes more sense, inviting people to predict, but also consider what's already occurred.

On the evidence thus far, I think a 2 is all I can give.

Better to reserve judgement until the transfer window has actually closed.

But as ever, the true measure of a window’s success, or othewise, can never be truly judged until a few months down the line.

A transfer windiw can only be judged retrospectively.
