35/36 is going to be too much for Burnley to get from 21 points.

I also believe Brentford have little chance of reaching 36 points.

Maybe a win and 2 draws, but given their fixtures they really are still in this fight and relying on others to slip up.

5 points gap with 3 games in hand, plus another 8 games should normally do it but with this lot who knows?

Just had a look at Burnley's fixtures:

Win at Norwich- 24 points.

Win at Watford- 27

Got 4 points off Villa last season so same again- 31 points.

Win v Southampton- 34 points.

Without even taking into account Newcastle at home last day or potentially losing to them....

That's me also pretty much thinking they'll lose v Wolves, Man. City, Spurs and West Ham.....

They've lost momentum again recently but recently had a spell of taking 8 points from I think 4 games.

On the flip side them losing to Watford puts them back into the mix although they have less margin for error given they have very hard away games left, Watford end at Chelsea so proper May 1998 vibes right there!

We have 25 points from 27
To continue that form would give us 35 points from 38
However given our recent form compared to the start of the season I can't see us getting more than 28 points
Will that keep us up?

What about the three points beating us

What about the three points beating us

Let's not even think of that....

O.k if we have to...basically them winning all of their six pointers left puts them on 33 points e.g wins v Everton, Norwich, Watford and Newcastle but that's unlikely.

Just shows it's silly to just assume Watford or Burnley will barely pick up any more points this season, I mean a winner in Watford-Burnley in a few weeks will put one of them right back in the mix.

Not even thinking of staying up without a minimum of three wins and that's far from a given based on today and most of last six months.

They've won 3 games all season

They've won 3 games all season

Two of those v Brighton and Spurs in last month pretty much so they have picked up compared to what they were doing pre xmas.

If they can't beat likes of Norwich away and Southampton home they likely won't stay up but simply can't rule them out. They also drew 0-0 away to Wolves eariler this season so they'll be looking at that home game as chance of a win if they defend well.
