How stupid are Manu?

Rooney is turd these days. I've said it for a while. He shouldn't be near the captaincy for either England or Man Utd.

Glad we've got Falcao and Van Persie - I can't see Fat Wazza lasting long under Van Gaal!
Given I didn't actively watch United last year beyond a few games, I thought he got you more than a fair few points by himself last year. A lot of your goals came through him last year either being created or scored by him, and while his all round play might not reflect that, that's really what you want from a player.

It's not really in Van Gaal's power to get rid of Rooney.

He has a five year contract at a gazillion quid a week.

Wayne will decide if he wants to stay there or look for a move.

And he'll still be at OT long after Van Gaal has gone.

That's the thing with 'Wazza' - he sells shirts. I can't stand him, personally - but he does score important goals.

And it's not because he's a Scouser - I am not that childish. He just gets under my skin, as do any English players that our media fawn over; Terry, Lampard & Gerrard included.

There have been 2 English players that have 'wowed' me in the last 20 years - Gazza and Scholes.

I don't know about you but Ross makes me go wow. Gerrard in his utter prime was very very good as well tbf, but having said that has been living on past glories for a while.

Barkley will be an awesome player. Yep, Gerrard was an amazing player but it just never worked out in an England shirt really, although we could say that for Scholes too.

For their clubs they have been incredible. Scholes the more intelligent player though, he developed his game and controlled midfield. Gerrard relies too much on pace/power for his game IMO.

Except when he was scything people down due to an inability to correctly time a tackle ??

Difference being mate Scholes very rarely got played in his proper position for England, he was shunted this was and that to make room for worse players

Scholes imo would have walked straight into any side in the world, Gerrard would have always had to have a team tailored to his style - bit like toure does tbh. Scholes was the better player by a big margin imo

Ross just has a sense of the effortlessnes technique about him when hes on the ball at times. Reminds me of a Zidane but with more driving past players with pace and strength compared to Zidane who used to beat players seemingly effortlessly. Very good technique, it'll be interesting to see where he is as a player in five years time, whether or not he develops into what he could be potentially or stagnates into a very good but not great (like Rooney) player.

Comparisons with Ballack in style are far closer to the mark, a huge way to go to reach that level though, but the basics of what he does well are the same that Ballack did compared to say Zidane who imo he doesn't resemble at all

He was an awful tackler. But the most technically gifted midfielder we've had in decades.

Xavi, Zidane, fat Ronaldo etc have all said they'd love to have played with him. He was a genius.

Of course they would have loved to have played with him, even Scholes didn't kick his own teammates !!!! Doh !!
