How stupid are Manu?

Don't bite then, mate. It really is just bantz anyway. We love your Twitter feed and enjoy having you on our boards

Man U fans can claim if they want that they've been a bigger club than Everton since the Sky-era, but I reckon your bantz is better than that. Try not to fall into the same trap as @neville who was all sweet-n-pie until his Man U started being shyte.

Clearly, the fall of Manchester United is hilarious for not just Everton fans, but all fans in general. I don't see how they're gonna come back from this, regardless of money. We're talking Souness-at-RS levels of fall here...so naturally the bantz will be all over the shop.

They had won the league 7 times, FA cup 7 times, European cup and the UEFA cup winners cup before the Sky-era you beaut

So they have always been a big club

As for the fall of Utd, They have had one bad season, Do you honestly think a club that size with that much money is going to slip away into mid table?

We had won the league 9 times. I wasn't saying they weren't a big club before that, you beautiful man. I was implying they weren't necessarily bigger than us back then.

As for the fall: Souness-Evans-RS didn't fall to mid-table either. They were like top 8, top 6, and eventually regular top 4 after a few years again. The Spice Boys and all that. Probably win the odd cup, but won't trouble the title race for a long time.

That's the fall I'm predicting for Man U.

Liverpool never had the pull Utd have when they slipped (LOL)

As for the bigger than Everton thing, They had won only 2 less league titles, 3 more FA cups and the biggest of the lot the European cup

Depending exactly when in 1999 he started his expensive odyssey around England, Europe, Infinity and beyond he would have seen them win the European Cup twice, reach the final once and lose, win around nine or ten EPL titles and a bunch of F.A. and League Cups.

He would have seen that happen twice actually, 2009 and 2011, both times to Barcelona.

Liverpool were the most-supported team in Britain at the time, maybe even Europe. Cringed at those Crown Paints & Candy tops I saw genuine beauts wear in Germany back then.

The game has a lot more money to it now, and Man U have a 75k stadium. The game's changed so that money's super-influential. I still stand by my prediction.

As for the big-club thing, basically you're saying Man U have been a bigger club than Everton since at least 1968. I disagree. I'd say the big 5 of Everton, RS, Man U, Spurs and Arse were roughly on-par until the end-of-the-80's. We won 2 leagues in the 80's, Utd didn't win any. We won a European Cup in the 80's too. Utd didn't.

That's like saying Aston Villa are a bigger club than Arsenal, based on past successes, but not recent successes (which you seem to be doing).

But if we're basing it on everything, Everton & Man U were roughly on par with each other back then.

Think by and large, whereas Utd have had some refereeing assistance on occasions, you can multiply that 100 times for LibPool Football Clublad. Given they've never committed manslaughter on 39 Italian fans and had us banned, I prefer Utd.

Sorry, I see you beat me to it

Sustained success attracts bells. It's just simple math. Lets not pretend we'd be immune to it if we actually achieved something. Let's just do United a favour and cull a few of these bells for them by finishing in the top four and keeping them out of the Champions League. It's the least we can do.

Seems like the club is really changing its line of thinking from what it was like when Ferguson was there. It's been interesting to watch United change since his retirement.
In truth Fergie laid the groundwork by relying too much in his later years on the old guard especially in midfield. He let players that clearly wouldn't make it there such as Anderson get far too comfortable.

The Falcao loan is similar to the RVP purchase in that it has dubious long term benefit but is a gamble on achieving a short term goal - RVP was to win Fergie the league in his retirment year, Falcao to get UTD back into the champions league.

It will be interesting to see what Utd do once they regain the champions league, will they continue the Real Madrid "galaticos" approach or they settle into a more Bayern style where they combine the high class purchases with promising youth.
