How stupid are Manu?

I do think you're being a bit dismissive of Rooney. He's been instrumental to some of United's successes over the years and probably would have added more goals to his already considerable tally had he not been so damn positionally versatile.

I've never been his biggest fan. He does score important goals though, granted. He thinks he's better than he is though. And we should have got rid of him when he was moaning about being at United - could have sold him to Chelsea last summer but Moyes was too far up Fat Wazza's bum and now Van Gaal has followed suit by giving him the captaincy. Ludicrous.

----- Di Maria ----

RVP ---------- Falcao

Probably mate. But to be honest I'd love us to keep Mata - I think he'll come good with a quality midfield behind him.
The guardian rumour mill today suggesting Mata likely out for 20m in Jan which to me would be crazy, especially as you brought him for 37m only last Jan.

Mata was never a Mourinho player (too little defensive work and slow) but as you say in a team based on possession football, witha quality midfield and some fast strikers he'd thrive.

He should have been better than he is though. Quite a lot of it his own fault like, and Rooney and his talents have probably been done to death on here but yeah, he's not a captain. Could see that Blind becoming captain in time, dunno why.

Phil Neville says Hello.

Phil Neville was a bang-average player, and the worst captain I've ever seen for us. No leadership on the field, and, like Moyes, ruined any chance of a decent legacy when he made his outrageously-clueless "it's a massive achievement for a club like Everton to finish top 10".

He was bigging up Moyes by batting us down. Man Utd to the core, he was never Everton-captain material.

It's a disgrace he ended up being our longest-serving captain of all time. An obscene joke that.

For a club like Man Utd, it's all about those marketing deals...sadly.

I hate the fact the useless overweight bugger is captain too. Should have been RVP but there would have been uproar seeing as he's only been at the club for 2 seasons and Van Gaal was his manager for Holland as well.

Rooney and Mata will be gone by 2016 in my opinion. Both to PSG for £200 million hopefully, they're stupid enough to buy anything!
would you say jose was right about mata in the long run?

I couldn't agree with the comment that he didn't show on field leadership.
