I think he'd be guaranteed left back for United if they signed him. Evra is off end of the season anyway and Moyes won't be scared to drop him, especially with their rocky start to the season - perfect excuse to shake it up a bit in January.

It'd be amazing if he stayed like, but if he goes we'll move on and no doubt be a better team with the money the boss is able to spend.

Not so sure mate, would be a massive loss, but our game is more varied now. He is a world class player and they cant be duplicated, but it is possible to change systems and philospeys to adjust. He will betalked about for years as one of our greatest left backs.

To be honest mate, 20 mill is nothing. Its less about transfer fees and more about wages, for example most people would say we have a negative net spend then in the summer but we prob break evenin the summer when you consider the numbers we added to the squad and subsequent wages.

That's it mate, you nailed it with the "more varied game" comment. Coincidence that we get a new manager and Baines becomes less effective? You could argue he's had little game time with Pienaar and that's a factor, but the best players can perform regardless of whose in front of them on the wing.

At the end of the day, if he doesn't want to be at Everton then we should get rid. 20m is nothing, you're right, but if it goes to the boss and buys us a striker that can become a key player once Lukaku goes and possibly a new left back (if Oviedo is deemed not good enough and the boss doesn't think Garbutt will come in any time soon) then it'll all be sound.

He's ace is Leighton, but players come and go. We'd be fine. Although it would be a disappointment to see him go, I must admit.

I think the reason some people don't rate him very highly is because of his inability to deal with shots from range. He just seems so leaden footed at times, e.g. Lampard's goal in the Cup Final. A decent keeper but not top drawer.

Not wrong though- his biggest weakness I've always found is his inability to comfortably deal with shots from distance. Reflex saves and one-on-ones and pens he's great at. But if i were opposition manager sitting with a Ben Arfa, Oscar, Bale, etc I'd instruct them to shoot on sight.

Hmmm interesting. Lets look in detail..

Arsenal: Schezney/Mannone - Howard wins I think
Aston Villa: Given - If Given was younger he'd win, but he's not. Howard wins.
Chelsea: Cech - has looked dodgy, so has Howard. Draw.
Fulham: Schwarzer - same as Given. Howard wins just.
Liverpool: Reina - has looked awful for last 2 seasons. Howard wins.
Man City: Hart - awesome. Hart wins.
Man United: De Gea/ Lindergaard - De Gea will be great over time but not convinced by the Dane. Howard wins.
Newcastle: Krul - Actually a bit ace. Close but Krul wins just.
Norwich City: Ruddy - Ruddy hell it's Soft Cell - Howard wins.
QPR: Cesar - done better than I thought he would so far. But Howard is better.
Reading: Federici/McCarthey - I liked Federici it last year but he's been dodgy and McCarthey is young. Howard wins.
Southampton: Davis/Gazzinga/Boruc - Even Saints fans hate all their keepers. Howard wins.
Sunderland: Mingolet - Belgians lads - Mingolet wins just.
Spurs: Friedel/Lloris - no idea why they got LLoris. I can't decide on this one.
Stoke: Begovic - never rated him - Howard wins.
Swansea: Vorm - been very good but he's short isn't he. Close but Howard wins.
West Ham: Jaaskelainen - Been a bit better for West Ham than Bolton but Howard is way better. Howard wins.
West Brom: Foster - Decent keeper, but makes mistakes. A draw.
Wigan: Al Habsi - Makes amazing saves because he has to. Howard is better. Howard wins.

So yeah... You're right actually.

Mad post this when you look at it now.
