You're being sarcastic here I presume.
Of course, he knows he is wrong, but it's a necessary stance to take when trying to look cool and zen.
I mean, he might actually believe that 2 League titles, an FA Cup, and a European trophy in 3 years, including a double I might add, as well as 3 times runners up at Wembley and runners up in the title race in the same period is not special.
He may also believe that circumstances around it mean nothing either. Where we were before and how an unfashionable team that noone believed could achieve anything, achieved everything.
Additionally, he may also believe that the things that went against us, both as a team and as a city (which was captured brilliantly by the recent BT documentary) do not tell the perfect tale of what might have been, even in the midst of our all conquering heyday.
How we, as only Everton seemingly can, grasped defeat from the Jaws of victory, both in those occasions we finished runners up and how we somehow managed to turn our most successful team ever into a shambles in a matter of years, all at the dawn of the new Premier League era that made the biggest teams global brands as the rest wallowed in their wake.
So yeah, he might genuinely believe all of this.
But the reality is, he is probably just trying to be cool.
