New Balance do excellent shoes for running. All my running shoes for the past 20 years have either been New Balance of Asic. Just because they make the kit for *them* doesn't take away the fact they make good stuff.

If you wear New Balance then you are wearing “old white guy shoes” which isn’t a bad thing just a fact.

Regardless though, you’re missing the entire point of my post

The amount of guys I see walking around in PSG casual wear is amazing. Master stroke by them to not be Nike but Jordan.Absoluley iconic for cool and also unique in football.

You could put the Everton marketing team to work for a million years and they wouldn’t come up with something that good.

Branded street wear is the way forward. You’d only buy one kit and wear it once a week most likely. You can wear a good jacket or good causal pants everyday.

To be honest given we have SportPesa and Angry Birds on the shirt we're already the epitome of embarrassing football clubs anyway. The kit maker is just the icing on the turd cake.

TBH Angry birds aren't that bad - Angry birds is from a £bn industry and it's unconfirmed if our Uzebki overlord has ownership in Rovio Entertainment which owns them.

Sports Pesa though, the only company on the planet actually willing to invest real money to sponsor us I'm sure it's pennies too compared to the usual.

Rather have EITC on our shirts if we could somehow get round FFP.

I am not missing the point of your post at all.

I am just one of those people who choose function over form every day of the week. I honestly don't care what the perception of a product is, or how 'in' or fashionable it is. If it does it's job, and it does it's job well, then that is why I am buying/using something.

Because some people in a certain demographic half way around the world think it's 'old white guy shoes' has no relevance to function or the marketing sponsorship potential of a brand & product.

For some rubbish anecdotal evidence, when I was at SDVT-1, which has a massively diverse makeup, the majority of us wore Asics or NB. There were some Nikes/addidas/Brooks/Reebok/under armor etc..... But at least 80% of us were running 35-40 miles a week in the functional shoes.

Nah you’re a bit behind the times there. My Mrs works in fashion, about 7/8 years ago she started wearing NB. They really took off, I think one of their models were the biggest selling trainers of the year a couple of years ago, and loads of A-listers were wearing them.
