If this was two years ago, before he'd gone to hull, would people much more inclined to have Silva? Because him two years ago is hardly a million miles away from fonseca imo.

Moyes and Everton are a good fit, I don’t care what anyone says.

I could think of worse appointments. The present incumbent for one.

You mean Fonseca is a failure waiting to happen like Silva? You might be right, but id rather then give someone a chance, then give someone who has had 2 chances allready and failed twice a third go.

That’s harsh in the extreme and you need to look at in in context. Hull were bottom when he was appointed last January, with one win in 10 games and one of the worst squads ever in the PL to try and get a tune out of. He very nearly kept them up despite all that but to call him a failure because they dropped is extremely harsh.

You can’t ignore the point about us unsettling things at Watford either, it’s not an excuse it’s a legitimate reason. They were playing the best football in the league (other than City) until that point. If you read some of the local journalist reports they seem to think it was the players who downed tools after he publicly failed to commit to them, rather than Silva getting the hump after our bid was rejected.

They haven’t exactly excelled with the new bloke since have they? The fact is the Watford squad is bang average at best. His record before coming to England was superb and you have to remember the bloke is still only 41 years old.

He is a talented young coach and I like the way he plays the game. I’d be fully behind his appointment and would look forward to the new season with excitement.

Unless we got Simeone or the like, whoever we get won’t get universal approval that’s just the nature of the beast. But compared to what we have now, getting Silva will be like get Pep, Simeone and Sir Alf Ramsay rolled in to one!
