If the rumours of West ham chatting to all sorts of managers (Fonseca, Emery, Wenger..)are true then we should too. Although it looks like Silva is the easiest to get alongside Brands and we do need to move quick with the window opening early this year. Saying that find the best man for the job.

I liked what Silva did at Hull. Very nearly keeping up one of the worst squads in Premier League history was impressive, as was the feat of guiding Hull to victory over Man Utd in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final. And as others have mentioned he did well to guide Sporting to their first major trophy in seven years.

However, for me it's his record at Olympiacos that's most impressive. Under his stewardship they won their first SEVENTEEN domestic matches of the 2015/16 season, eventually winning the Greek title (Superleague Greece) with ease. They also trounced Arsenal in the Champions League.

Cracking young manager.

He was never going to succeed at Watford. They're a small club with no money.

If you cant succeed at small things, you cant be trusted to succeed at big things.

No owner of a business ever said "Well, he failed to manage the few people he had, lets give him a bigger job to do and see how he does that"

Sorry mate I disagree. If any of those are speaking with West Ham then I am not interested in them. Clearly clueless.

I still believe despite the glass ceiling we have been hitting for the last 25 years that we should be aiming to get the best manager our money can afford - this should be seen as another stepping stone in getting us back to a top 4 team. None of the names I have seen linked to us inspire me and I think more importantly the fans and players.

All clubs goes through cycles, peaks and troughs which means opportunity is always there if your brave enough to go for it.

We have been too safe as a club for far too long

Nothing wrong with that ambition. However, the other side of the equation that impinges on reality is that (though a high salary is available for the post) we hold no attraction to top managers or anyone who falls just short of that level. They'll want a squad that is more or less good to go from the moment they step into the job, a substantial war-chest, as stunning a playing environment as they can possibly get, European football to maintain their profile and keep them in the shop window. We are not at the races in those respects.

Remember the days when clubs interviewed a shortlist of managers then appointed one? Changed now to where potential managers now interview the clubs.

It’s West Ham mate. Next I’ll be reading Emery speaking with Fulham? I don’t buy it.

It pains me to say it, but overall package wise they would have the drop on us purely due to them being located in the capital. Which shows how far we've dropped in the pecking order of attractiveness.

More chance of Moyes getting a new contract than West Ham beating us to Fonseca if we want him. I don’t buy it.

Fulham or West Ham!? Nah West Ham have two London spivs in charge, everything about them, and West Ham’s history of failure screams ‘swerve’.
