Do
I dont even think hes done a good job at Newcastle myself.

Sure hes got a very good pedigree, but hes very, very unlikable.

I just hate his face, LOADS.
You dont think hes done a good job?
Hes hardly bought anyone since playing in the Championship last year. His team finished 10th in the PL without hardly spending anything.

The "hypothetical" word in this thread title is beginning to annoy me now.

Just sack the lump of lard FFS.

Yeah for me any manager that finished below us this season should be deemed a clown and swerved till the end of time.

I get where your coming from and I do get why some Blues fans wouldn't want him, I dont like him myself as a person and find him personality wise very dour.

What I do think however is that we are at a cross roads as a club - we for whatever reason cant attract (or dont try) the bracket of manager underneath the elite group i.e your Emery's, Mancini's, Pellegrini's so it leaves us with either mid table standard appointments (Howe, Dyche) or risk candidates who might be the next Pochettino or the next De Boar (I put Fonesca and Silva in this bracket)

I just think Benitez is in the same bracket as the likes of Emery however he appears willing to work at a club not in the elite bracket.

I fear we potentially could be cutting our noses off to spite our face as with our backing I feel he could have us competing for silverware which is what all us Blues want at the end of the day ;)

The last 2 managers I liked as people were Unsworth and Martinez who are both utter gash.

Benitez is a very good manager, hes ranked joint 8th in the world in terms of trophies won as a manager, a very good coach over the years for sure, so yes, im cutting my nose off, but I dont think he would win zip here personally, hes only ever won trophies at clubs who have a a good pedigree and only after spending vast sums of money, hes never done anything I consider unexpected, im not trying to take anything away from what hes won.

But if he was any good, Newcastle wouldnt have been scraping around for points with 2 weeks of the season to go.

I wouldn't mind him as manager just so we could dress as cardinals just to take the Michael out of that shower of lunatics across the park.

Then sack him obviously. Fat spanish kopite.
