2018/19 Idrissa Gueye

I thought you were referring to an article which someone put on here the other day, about how PSG wanted Gueye as a Matuidi replacement (the article also said Matuidi had left in 2018, which was wrong).

That's all. Wasn't picking with your point!

Although, Matuidi is 2 and a half years older than Gueye, like.

All good mate, i was more thinking of an insight into the value PSG place on that type of position in a market sense. Although there is context given PSG were hard pressed to comply with FFP and UEFA breathing down their necks.i suppose what i am saying i think it isnt really likely that PSG are going to be paying North of 15-20 mill for Idrissa. It doesn't really offer us decent value or much of an incentive to sell, the deal has to be right for us to look at.

To be fair to Matuidi, he went out a few months ago and won a world cup for himself.

Gravesen wasn't good enough for Madrid, I hope we dont sell him as we really need him, but if PSG have identified that he is the ideal man to solve a problem they have I can see us selling him
7M out - 30M in
Trouble is that in those couple of years It now cost you 30M+ to replace him...a profit yet not a profit - unless Brands can find an upgraded better passing Gana 2.0
Edit; which is his prime job
Edit2; Re Gravesen, I'm still not convinced they didn't mean Carsley when they asked to buy El Baldio

The thing is we will need to buy at least 3 midfielders maybe 4 in the next few windows, Witt at least Schneiderlin, besic and McCarthy leaving. So it’s going to cost a lot of money to bring in the quality midfielders we need, whatever happens to Gana.

If we fast forward 3 seasons can you imagine any of our centre midfielders being at the club? Perhaps Davies and Baningime due to their ages and us needing squad players.

If we could sell Gana or any of the others then i think we would be foolish not to do so.

Phil Kirkbride in the echo says no bid has been made at all

Probably just enquiries at this stage.

There was another report I seen, which said Tuchel had spoke to the owners and asked for more money to buy a midfielder, €30mil was quoted.
The 3 players mentioned being Gana, Allan Napoli and Weigel

Too many clubs think they can come and pick us off with low bids when they decide to have a go but the club is not like that any more.

In what respect has it changed?

We sold Lukaku, Stones and Barkley when the big clubs came knocking.

Yes, we got decent fees for Lukaku and Stones, but historically we’ve always done okay in terms of negotiating fees - the likes of Joleon Lescott and Rooney were big fees in their day.

Legend has it that the AC Milan delegation thought they were signing John Barnes when, bizarrely, the Rosseneri bought Luther Blissett from Watford.

And let’s face it, that is the most plausible explanation for that strange transfer :(.

By the low bids being rejected is what he means. We still sell, every club does but now we'reonly selling when we get a bid that matches our evaluation of the player.

Remember when we knocked back Chelsea 3 times over stones? Under moyes we probably would of had to accept that. We may of played hardball but we would of caved eventually.

Saw the same thing. It's not enough for any of them.
That’s highly debatable. I think Brands will sell for 40 for certain. Can’t turn that type of money down for a very limited footballer who turns 30 in the summer

€30mil for Gana is about £27mil. Snap their hands off.
