Of the players mentioned, Thiago Mendes was interesting. Barrios would be your traditional anchor man as he plays like Schneiderlin. Wish we could sell him, too. Big NO from me on Lobotka. Dude can barely get 90 minutes for Vigo.

He seems far more mobile and aggressive that schneids I thought. Difficult to tell in such a different league though

PL club, so a bigger premium already, and it's Jan, and it's the last few days of the window, and teams would know we are desperate...

Not saying that, what I am saying is we could get two players who we could mould into how Silva wants to play. Maybe one now one in the summer. We have no idea who we are looking at. I think we should take the fee let's face it we will never get offered that again and as much as I think it could mean we won't win many games for the rest of the season I think it's worth the trade tbh. I think Gana is very good at one job and we will miss him in the short term but there's a lot wrong with this team and maybe we need a pivot who can distribute the ball and a box to box player, the current midfield make up doesn't work. Currently each midfielder is trapped in a box.

Agree. He seemed to be playing a bit more center mid, too, with Boca this past year. But still, he's a pure 6, and is indeed similar.

He was so bored out of his mind against the US last time we played it may have clouded my judgement. I haven't seen him play more than a couple times for Boca, but still remember him sitting back a lot for Columbia. I remember him hacking the English team something fierce in the World Cup.
