What are we playing for? To stay out of trouble We could easily be dragged into the mess at the bottom of the league if we are not careful. We "should" be fine but selling a weekly starter would be very risky.

Got to be honest I don't understand how any of that related to what I said?

We are crap, just been beat by a team worse than any team in the premier league and have an horrendous run of home fixtures. It is certainly conceivable that we could be dragged into it.

This can be put to bed if we beat Huddersfield but if we lose I will officially start to worry.

Why do we need midfielders that can tackle? This is an English myth; if you have the ball there's no need to tackle. I think the problem is the system and the way Gylfi plays. He's by no means a playmaker so he doesn't seem to do anything unless it's spectacular, so in other words, his production relies on low percentage opportunities. I'd like us to play like Sarri does with one holding playmaker -- not a ball winner, think Jorginho or Pirlo; Gomes could play there -- making him the "free man" as opposed to an attacking midfielder. If he's good enough to hold on to the ball, you then have two potentially attacking midfielders (think Silva and De Bruyne). Some of the best defensive midfielders on the planet don't tackle, but they are exceptional at reading the game and keeping hold of the ball (Busquets, Fernandinho, Pjanic, Kroos, etc.).

Also pjanic and kroos aren't defensive midfielders. Both of them can play there in a jam but it isn't their preferred position. Pjanic has played there once this season and kroos has played there 5 times and only as cover because casmerio has been struggling.

I've said this before we need a cdm who sits in front of the back four and two box to box cm sat in front of him. The amount of goals we conceded because gana and gomes get caught out of position leaving out back one exposed is ridiculous.

It sounds like a deal that could easily happen.
Silva basically said that if the fee is acceptable the transfer will happen. I doubt that PSG ever expected to get him at 21m. I think around 30m is the price.

Honestly I don't see where our next points are coming from currently.

I think Marco agrees with you. He has stated previously that 433 is his favourite formation where the defensive midfielder is the most important position. That's probably why we were so interested in Doucoure (kinda like Gueye but can actually pass). I'm interested to know where you think Sigurdsson would fit in that system?

Well David Silva who was for many years a "number 10" has been able to play in a midfield three really well for Man City; Ross Barkley (sorry, let me just spit real quick) looks a better player in that role than he ever did playing in behind or from the left, Bernardo SIlva, the list goes on. There's no reason why Gylfi can't play there too perhaps the most advanced of the midfield three. The holding anchor or Regista permits a little more freedom to the two centre mids ahead of him and Sigurdsson does appear to have an engine. Good players only play well when they have the ball; this system would give Glyffi exactly that.
