Fabinho a CL semi finalist, far younger, Brazil international, can cover RB, went for 40 mill with Liverpool being rinsed by Monaco to get him early. So why would a player far less desirable in profile go for the same 12 months later? The market hasn’t inflated that much. If Gueye was worth 40 mill someone would be paying it for him. They’re not, because he’s not.

I agree, think around 30m is a decent price for gueye

Both contracts are a year older.

:coffee::coffee::coffee:
I swear you're just thick at times, 28million is more than 25million.

And we didnt reject 25m for Lookman, it was more like 20m and probably in installments.
Well it does because Gana played out of his skin and dragged us back up the table gaining more money for the club's final position.

It didn't in Lookman's case but rejecting the deal to see if Silva could get him going and turning him into the player we all wanted him to be wasn't exactly a bad move was it? It didn't work out but we gave it a go.
The point being made is that when you reject a bid you dont go back a year later and accept the same or a slightly better offer. It looks pathetically weak.

The fact that two big outgoing deals are about to be done suggests to me that an almost done incoming deal is going to appear from left field.

That's if its possible for any possible signing to be kept under the radar these days

1. Lookman hadn't do anything all season and also didn't even make the England U21 squad this year so you can argue his value has dropped.
2. Gana had a great season so his value and bid increased but not by much since he's 30 soon.

Because Lookman rarely played and done nothing to warrant a price rise.
Yes you do.

No it doesn't.

A player whose contract has a year less to run, and you get the same money, or even more money, compared to the amount offered the year before? How are you finding fault in this? lol
Look, Everton made two balls on the table statements last year over those two players, now they have humiliatingly caved in on them.
