....tremendous signing (Steve Walsh to be fair), a player who produced 8/10 performances most weeks. Good business too, selling at such a massive profit helps balance some of the poor deals from the Walsh era.

You never want to lose your best players, but I think this was inevitable and a new midfielder might add an extra dimension to our play give us a bit more scope.

We never announce someone quickly, but it's pretty obvious he wasn't moving until we secured a replacement. It sure sounds like Gbamin is the one. He's a good choice. We'll play a bit differently as a result, but think he'll do well.

But honestly, we can't replace Gana. He's the most disruptive midfielder maybe on the planet. But a player like Gbamin is a good alternative. Think Silva wants to play with more of a sitting 6 and Morgan Scheiderlin ain't it.

It is disappointing that one of our best players wanted to leave. We will certainly miss his hard work. I am expecting us to start with Delph and Gomes as two holding players now, and we will be more reliant on keeping possession. Hopefully we can get some flair and goal threat, by investing the transfer fee, as we seem to be lacking both! Good luck Gana, thanks for your efforts
