I'm a big fan of Gana but the PSG move would make a lot of sense for all concerned. He could play for any top team doing what Makalele did. He joined Chelsea at 30 and took the PL by storm. Gana still has plenty to offer.

That being said an offer of over 25 million quid we would consider. I don't think Silva has played with a Gana type much before. Barrios is more of a playmaker. I think we could look to bring him in and further adapt how we play.

Catcher mate, for any sale of gueye, you'd be looking at 50+ minimum, as it would certainly have at the very least a short term impact in performance. My own opinion, don't sell for anything unless you know the replacement is already sorted now

Yeah if he does leave I doubt we're gonna find a like for like because Gueye is just weirdly good at winning back possession, so I'd like us to get someone with a bit of a more all round game, in an ideal world I'd love Ndombele from Lyon

I'm not sure we'd get an offer of that amount. They seem to like Barrios. If they could add say Lozano & Barrios for Gana it would be very tempting.

And some players just don't want to push themselves that extra bit mate or don't believe they need too.

I don't ever envisage a time in the future where you'd see dowell putting in a huge amount of running in a game for example.

Ultimately, he's a player who twenty odd years ago could have easily made it to the top, hell sheedy for us didn't exactly cover much ground, but in the modern game with fitness levels so high everywhere just don't see that type making it now.

Just think the lads grew up to this age able to get by on being far more talented than most others so never added those parts needed to make it, and can't think of many at his age who suddenly changed mentality on how they play the game which lets face it he'd have to do a complete u turn on

Good point mthe likes of Le Tissier , McKenzie and players if that ilk were undroppable in their day
Today they would be impact subs at best
As you said it’s very few teams that can afford to carry a flair player
Even Messi puts the hard yards in

As you say Gueye is doing a great job at the moment and, given the choice, I don't think the club will be looking to sell him. But if a club like PSG do indeed come knocking, it will be hard to keep hold of him especially if he himself wants to go. All dependant on whether they meet our valuation, and I'd be surprised if that was less than £30m given his age and remaining contract. The player is in his prime.

We'd use the money towards a replacement and I'd be surprised if it were like for like. Let's be honest, there aren't many about as good as him at what he does. I think we'd spend the money on a player like Ndombele or a player of that ilk if he proves to be beyond us.

If PSG gave us 30m for Gana every club would bend us over on the fee for his replacement knowing we had at least 30 m to spend
It’s what happened with Klassen and Siggy with the Lukaku money
It’s one of the main reasons Bill hasn’t spent the Arteta money , he was afraid of getting stung lol

I can see sense in what you’re saying but by losing Gana we are taking away from Gomes ‘s game
He has more freedom knowing Gana is doing the covering behind him
Also Gana allows the 2 FB’s to get forward as he covers their runs
I just don’t see the sense in asking 3/4 players to change their style because we sell one player
If we could replace Gana with a player who does 90% of what he does but with better pmaymaking skills then fair enough , but I don’t know wether such a player exists
Gama’s style of play offers so much to the team and allows other players so much freedom if we replaced him we may have to replace other players to fit into the required change of tactics

I think Swansea would have asked any club for the same fee that we got Sigurdsson for, Klaassen's one of the most frustrating buys of recent years though - as with the talent Ajax have at the moment we went for the one devoid of pace or the technical quality to cover that fact

I’m not sure where Gomes will end up ( hopefully here ) but I doubt very much if he will be going back to Barca to play football

If we would be willing to sell our best player for 25M, we should just close up shop. Seriously. He's worth WAY more to us. I'm not sure how he would fit in with that PSG side though. Is the intent to push Veratti farther up the field? I guess they are trying to sell Rabiot. If they desired a Gana type player so badly, why the heck did they move Matuidi?
