Hes a good player but lacks the technical side of his game which would enable us to counter much more effectively.
Hes someone that is ideal to keep if we were in the champions league and had to rotate. On the other side of the coin you have to look at him being 30 in september and us needing money to upgrade.
If we managed to get £20-25mil for Schneiderlin, McCarthy and Besic we could bring in another player which hopefully Brands could find and Marco could turn into a top player + keep Gana.
Or we sell Gana and add him to the pot of cash and go for an immediate top player like a Neves or a Ndombele whose ability and value will only increase.
We need to bring in 6 players for the 11 (including Gomes) so where we can we will need to be clever in planning...ive got faith in Silva and Brands.
Are people complaining that the guy isn't Xavi? For me he's dovetailed beautifully with Gomes, and the midfield of those two and Sig has performed pretty well this season.

I expect Gana to perform at the highest level for a good few years yet. He's not suffered any major injuries throughout his career. In addition, we need a blend of experience and youth if we are to compete on all fronts. Just look at Real Madrid and their 3-time Champions League winning side. They featured six over-30's in their win over the other lot.
Neves amd Ndombele are definitely exciting prospects. I'd love a striker and a right-back too.
Not expecting a pirlo but surely you can see the amount of silly simple passes he cocks up? The one to Coleman sticks out for me from last night for instance

I'm one of his biggest fans, over the next two years we do need a better more powerful version of him, a top striker and a better winger agreed, but Gana is a top class player. These are the changes we need to make to become top 4, because yesterday he was a tad below what's expected of him. But I love him, think he's top.

He is great at breaking up play and not many are better. His passing is his weakness and I can honestly see Silva looking for more of an all rounder with more emphasis on possession. Ganas place IMO is at risk come next summer. He is not an immediate risk and I don't think Silva/Brands will get a better player at breaking up the play but will get a more comfortable player on the ball to enable us to counter quicker and better. I love Gana but feel he is not going to fit in with Silva/Brands future plans
He 100% will mate, though I agree on the point about having a better player on the ball.
He's not going anywhere. He's one of our best players.

Not sure where you’ve both got this idea from, but nobody’s mentioning Xavi or Pirlo. There’s a big gap between them two and the minimum requirement for a centre midfielder passing wise, which Gueye doesn’t meet at the moment.
Nobody is demanding that he suddenly become one of the world’s best passers. But he regularly hits 10 yarders behind people, at chest height, out of play etc. which isn’t good enough.
He’s a great ball winner (although Kante is still the best in the league in my opinion), but that doesn’t mean all other aspects of his game are completely immune from scrutiny.
