Badly need him for these two away games, I assume he'll be done at about 10pm on 31st August.

Is it still PSG holding up the deal or has something else cropped up as it was supposed to be all but done early last week.

have a bad feeling about this.

the last thing we need is another 30-something player on the Everton gravy train.

never go back.
Seems expectations from many in here are off.

Gueye for PSG has not been a success story. He has had a handful of great matches, several of them high profile CL matches, but overall he has never lived up to what PSG hoped for and paid top dollar for.

He won AFCON with Senegal earlier this year, but he was not a standout player. Mendy was. The midfielder Leicester chose to not register for Premier League play 12 months ago. He was selected for team of the tournament. The same was Elneny. Not Gueye.

As a squad player I am sure Gueye can do a job, but we are likely to sign a worse player than what we sold three years ago. Meanwhile the league has become significantly stronger these three years.

Red flags. Everywhere. The price must be right.

Where have you got this info from? PSG fans I know would disagree completely with that statement.

Gueye wants PSG to eat the wage disparity between their contract and ours. PSG presumably wants us to up our offer to cover that if they have to eat it. We're refusing to do that.

They didn't pay top dollar. They paid us thirty million pounds or so, and him wages we can afford. They got what they paid for. Some would say they got more than.

Disagree. He is everything we need. If we get a fit and firing Gana from Sep to Jan then we probably stay up.
In the absence of him, this midfield wins very few points over that period and we can’t make up the shortfall in the new year. We are in dire straits. Relegation.

This is correct - fans can't have it both ways as well.

We bemoan the club for not having a coherent approach to transfers and for being pushed around by clubs and accepting bad terms for new players. We are rightly holding our ground here - PSG really don't want him, so we just wait. They'll have to relent in the end.

But if you want us to make sensible transfer decisions, then our fans need to stop being so short-sighted. Yes, we all want him for the next two games, but its two games in the context of a contract that will be 75+ games.

We wait, we get him on our terms and he hopefully contributes strongly for the remaining 33 games.

If the points from the five games are that important to us staying up, I think it's fair to criticize our side for penny-pinching what reportedly amounts to two million pounds. There are ways to raise that like, say, cutting the board's salaries in the event that we don't raise that much from outgoings.

I think that what happened here is that Onana in made Gueye in a lot less urgent. We want Gueye, but we can also afford to stonewall PSG on this one because we're no longer paper-thin in the center of the park.

This one’s annoying. From what I can tell he wants his contract ripping up so he can get a fat signing on fee with us instead of us just buying him from PSG. Bit greedy.

Thing is none of us know what's true anymore, apart from its dragged on for too long, is it time to move on, should we have set a deadline, don't think it will bother one of the richest clubs in the world if one of their numerous midfielders are mothballed in the reserves and they have to pay his wages for the last year of his contract.
