Just because signing number 1 isn't a huge name or fee doesn't mean that big guns won't follow.

beat you to it
Massive overload of defensive midfielders now.
Exactly. The transfer amount paid is not the measure of a signing. The fact is we can never really judge how successful a signing is until they have put on the shirt and kicked the ball a few hundred times, (or in the case of some - cough.. Oumar cough.. Niasse cough...choke.. kick the ball a couple of dozen times - if that!).Agree fully. Not every successful signing is accompanied by huge frenzy and huge fees. Of course the media like to see the circus of massive transfers, but it is more about getting the right player for the teams' need rather than flavour of the month signings.
If he can perform anything like Kante whom he was initially comparable with, we will not have gone too far wrong.
Plus this is a signing made by Koeman/Walsh who we must put 100% faith in. They did not do too badly at their last clubs in their recruitment.

Hopefully not, but thanks for the player summary nonetheless.Am a visiting villan. You've signed a wholehearted 90 minute performer who reads the game well and will make key interceptions. But will need babysitting- he's always liable to immediately give the ball away, usually as you're about to spring forward. Hopefully for you in a better side, that side of his game will come on. Beware of stats... Our whole signing strategy was based on stats. Look where it got us! Always had a soft spot for you guys. goodison always a favourite. Hopefully returning soon.
