A few weeks ago Lescott was in the sky studio with Thierry Henry and Henry said how much he like Gana, Lescott said when he was at Villa with him, he has never seen anybody run as much. He said even in training he ran twice as much as anyone else. "Even Gael Clichy?" Said Thierry looking genuinely shocked, "clichy was a monster in training and never stopped running". not a patch on this feller said Lescott! Henry looked genuinely amazed! :)

Dear Lord Baby Jesus, lying there in your little ghost manger, in your golden-fleece diapers, I lift up IGG to You in prayer and pray for his safe return. May our family be at peace and hear from our sweet, kind and noble African prince soon. Amen

Everton's Idrissa Gueye is statistically the best holding midfielder in the whole of EUROPE

When Idrissa Gueye left the pitch at the end of Everton's 3-0 victory over Southampton on Monday, it is a wonder that the Blues fans weren't clinging onto him and pleading for him not to go.

The Senegalese midfielder has been a huge hit since arriving at the club from Aston Villa in the summer, but now he's headed off to Gabon for the Africa Cup of Nations.

He'll miss most of the next month for Ronald Koeman's side, and it is clear that he'll be missed at Goodison Park.

But perhaps even Everton fans didn't think he'd be missed this much.

Because according to research done by stats giants Squawka http://www.squawka.com/news/ranked-from-50-to-1-europes-best-ball-winners-in-2016/869529, the 27-year-old was Europe's best ball winner in 2016.

Playing for both Villa and the Blues over the year in the Premier League, Gueye made 176 tackles and 124 interceptions, at a rate of 8.25 tackles and interceptions per game.

That places him ahead of any other player in Europe's top five leagues, marking him out as the most effective player in his position.

It is no wonder that he has proved so popular with Everton fans.

And why those same fans are now dreading the next month without him.

Sorry to take the jam out of people's donuts, but yes he's alright but let's be honest here he ain't the best.
Christ I'd swap him for Carsley any day!
