Do you think South Africa is a stable enough country to be able to cope with being eliminated from the tournament without the country falling prey to mass hysteria and violence?

I find it a little worrying that they might go out so soon.

BB, are you serious? They coped with having the jackboot of apartheid up their arse for decades, I think they can handle going out of a football tournament with good grace.

Yep, I'm serious.
Already they've had a small revolt with staff. I expect it to be bad if they get beat next match. I'm hoping all goes well though obviously.

The thing is, though, your question is bogus. If England went out of the WC on home soil there'd be (as we know from experience) disorder - even rioting...and we're a stable country, aren't we? Trouble of that nature is not a reflection on the general level of order/disorder of a society.

At no time did I take a course in diplomacy between my last visit to the forum and yesterday. I can only roll with it as I see it. It's for wiser mortals to point me in a better direction should one exist. :)
