Dunno. Youngsters who have clearly improved here have been the likes of Stones, Lukaku, Lookman. The oned that haven't are the likes of Pennington, Davies, DCL, Kenny. There's an Unsworth-shaped difference between both groups. Interesting that the uncle of a former youth player used to post on here and he was adamant before Unsy's dreadful tenure that he was an abysmal coach who'd been carried to the U23 title by Dowell.

I didn't see that. Stones really kicked on after he left and in fairness neither he nor Lukaku had any input from Unsworth.
We will have to disagree re Lookman. I don't think he has improved much at all, still a very inconsistent player for me. I think DCL has come on a bit.

However if his job is to make players available for the first team coach, he has done that in greater numbers than most of his counterparts at other clubs. Most just don't kick on.
