Hey, I have no qualms with Cuba, Castro made his mistake a long time ago when he let the Soviets try to put ICBM's on his island. He has done nothing really bad of late.

It is restricted. You used to be able to go there on 'cultural' tours but even those were taken away a few years ago. The ban on Cuba is pretty rediculous if you ask me but our goverment really holds a grudge.

And people still go via Canada or just on the sly but officially it is restricted (and technically I think you can travel there but you can't spend any money since it is an economic embargo!).

People do it on the sly. Via Canada or Mexico or elsewhere.

Cuba would treat you the same as any other foreigner.

As mentioned, you can change USD to Covertible Peso but the exchange rate is gash.
