2024/25 Iliman Ndiaye

If Beto is our starting Striker next season then recruitment has failed, in a big way.
I cant see us buying a first choice striker. We need other places more urgently IMO. Maybe a support striker for Beto. But I think he's fine to lead especially with Ndiaye, Alcaraz and a couple other new midfielders..

Or maybe im losing my mind?

….if we buy a striker, I’d hope it’s with the ambition of him being first choice. We have to build from the top down, bit pointless buying footballers who are only good enough to be 2nd best.

PERSONALLY, I think Broja becomes our number 9.

But thats based on the here and now, he could get games and his foot falls off, he could be utter tosh, but my gut says hes our number 9 and I think it would be a mistake.

But there are 2 months till May, so we shall see.

The phrase is build from the back though!

If (when) Branthwaite is sold he must be replaced like for like. Then if O'Brien can take right back we need backup there and maybe a new left back! After that the midfield.

That's a bit unfair to Beto. He has done well in his stint and could easily be on quite a few more than 6. He has at least signaled to me that we can look at other positions first and look for the best potential striker we can get. Bringing in a guy to replace Beto just for the sake of it will almost certainly be a downgrade. He has been effective.

Hes not very good im afraid, I enjoyed his little purple patch, but his head went after Flekken terrored him.

Im hoping he rams my words down my throat over the next few games, but I dont think hes very good.

I will support him fully for the record, but I think we could and should try and do better.
