If he pressed then a simple pass would have left 2 on one on Myko. Hard to commit to a press when easily bypassed
I think this is unfair. Fulham had three on two down his flank the entire time. Unless the entire team is also going to push with him he would be leaving Myko completely exposed. The main issue I have is that we aren't brave in possession. Apart from Ndiaye and McNeil all of our players look for the safest pass every time which is usually backwards and no one tries to beat their man. The result is we go no where and end up hitting hopeful punts. Mangala changed that slightly when he came on because he is confident in possession. Tim was a revelation against Bournemouth because of his ball carrying which allowed us to dominate that game and create lots of chances. We never looked like creating anything from opening play today because our play was so stulted.It won’t be an easy pass if the press is done well. He might not win the ball but he can do enough to reduce passing angle, decision time and plenty of other benefits along the way.
The fact that he’s not even responding when urge to push up by McNeil is baffling.
Apologies if already posted, just randomly stumbled upon this. Some of the exact same moves he does with the ball on show back then.
He's a player that gets you off your seat with excitement.
He's exactly the kind of player we've lacked for so long and that we need more of
@BigBeto1 pulling no punches here
Can't unsee Shitalenko now
Was doubled up on as you say and came up against a good right back also. We need someone like him on the right so teams can’t double up on our only good players. Would be nice if we have a left back that can overlap him and offer something eles too.Slating our own players in the match thread & then other posters for commenting on players...
As for Ndiaye, thought he looked average today...going forward and two players on him, sometimes 3.
Would have moved him central and McNeil left but without his ball at the end we'd probably have lost.
Yes but he's a No10 not a natural wide playerTried today but thought that Tete had him in his arse pocket most of the game.
