2024/25 Iliman Ndiaye

Palace proving my point here, both their wide lads are on his level/higher. Shouts about Man City etc. just seem delusional in my opinion. Really talented with the ball at his feet but deny him that and he’s not sure how to be effective yet.

If you are using Palace as an example, they have massive threats/ pace either side Eeze and Sarr, plus an excellent centre forward in Mateta, we have none of that. Teams that we play can concentrate / double up on N'diaye, he nice if Moyes would play Alcaraz with N'diaye we looked like we were playing with the brakes on in the first half.

No appreciate that, think Ndiaye would look better with better players of course. I just think we hype our players to the moon when realistically most teams above us have a couple out wide that are on his level or better.

He’s a really talented player, no doubt. He’s just not elite or anything yet whatsoever for me. If he can improve his threat when we don’t have the ball that would be a huge start. Needs to start running in behind more.

Too much safety first, and I don’t think that’s going to change

He's great at stabilizing clubs and has a great record of achieving best of the rest status. Don't see him as the one to really get us challenging at the top (if ever again). Don't think he even has the ambition and hunger for that.
I have a feeling Moyes sees himself as steadying the ship for a couple of years before grooming a successor and moving into a director’s role

I watched the Brighton game earlier and compared to a Moyse team it was like day and night.

….didn’t seem to bother Alcaraz, he looked decent when he came on.
He is technically good with the ball I agree. To be honest so is Ndiaye and I’ve seen enough of him this season to know he ain’t fully fit or playing with an injury as he didn’t look right. However, bar them, O’Brien and braithwaite I don’t trust the others when under a high press.
