It wasn't that bad tonight, was it?

Arsenal are pretty decent and on a good run like.

We played our usual Goodison stuff, but this time we conceded and didn't score. Moyes will get much criticism because of 2 things:

1) the general impression he fielded a stronger side vs Arsenal than he did vs Liverpool and coming away from both games with 0 goals and 0 points. This devalued the derby as both are league games, and made no sense as Liverpool are close to us on points while Arsenal are too far ahead for us to catch them.

2) the general impression that Moyes has over the years instilled a very basic and predictable attacking tactic which is easy to defend against.

That's why tonight was bad, as it only confirms the negativity going around.

Moyes put out the team everyone wanted to see. Absolutely nil Neville tonight for once as well. You can't really say we didn't use our resources to the best of our ability. The players never hit top gear and didn't even start until going 1-0 down. They lacked quality tonight and once they are on the field, the manager can't play the game for them.

We weren't that bad tonight lads. Arsenal were marginally better and if it weren't for a **** of a linesman, we'd have got a point.
the point is.................. we just about manage to lose to the top sides by putting in a plucky 90 minutes but when it comes to the teams we should beat, we are clueless.

You're preaching to the converted mate.

However, I'm just looking at it from the 90 minutes of football on offer. Which wasn't terrible. We didn't score, well, that's football sometimes. We've won playing worse.

After years of abstract sh*teness the Everton fanbase has been conditioned into accepting were a mid table club.

That how our standard of football and owners of the club are tolerated.

Well beating Chelsea, City and Spurs was more than plucky. I agree though, we should do more against the 'poorer' sides. Its something Moyes has really struggled with of recent seasons.

Agree with this. Maybe it's just "meh, another loss", but I dunno, just felt we tried a bit harder tonight than previous.

we are laboured and sluggish. Not just tonight but in general. I knew we wouldn't score tonight after the Linesman's intervention. Our luck was out but i couldn't see us creating much.
