Maybe. I'd still class the World Cup as football's elite competition, I'm quite sure it's the pinnacle of a player's career to win it.

No denying that. He hasn't produced anywhere near his best in the World Cup though. Better opposition in the CL might be easier for him to take on than the weight of expectation placed upon him in the WC by his nation. Who knows.

Messi is better than Maradona. Whether or not Messi is the goat I don't know but in any conversation I ever have he is above maradona for one simple and absolute fact.

He was found guilty of taking performance enhancing drugs in his career which for me is enough to question the legitimacy of all his achievements. I'm not questioning his awesome technical ability he was great player but he was also a cheat. He only got caught later in his career but I'd put good money on the fact it wasn't his first transgression. We know he would cheat to win he admitted he would, he was actually proud of it. So it's not really a stretch to presume did it throughout his career. Cheat disgrace waste of space
