Is South Liverpool The RS Part Of The City?

Yes it's true, I think it's about religion historically. Areas like Crocky, Noggsy, Scotty Road, Canny Farm and Kirkby have always been blue areas and Irish Catholic areas. South End more C of E, but I think religion is just a coincidence, and for whatever reason areas like Speke, Netherley and Halewood have always been Red areas. I also think Liverpool have always appealed to armchair fans, even in 70s and 80s they got poor attendances compared to United who were crap. They've always been fair weather fans who disappear when they are doing poorly.

I grew up in Croxteth where I would say there were more blues than reds. I now live in Dingle where I would say there are more reds but still plenty of blues, as with anywhere in the city most of the blues go the game and the reds are mostly 'you can't get a ticket' types.

This was what I was going to say: there’s plenty of RS near me in the south, but they don’t go the game, whereas lots of the blues do.

Aldo "country",think I may have spelt that incorrectly;)   Probably where all the legions of RS taxi drvers in the city reside who always glory in telling you when you are trapped in the cab they are a massive red although the last time they set foot in the gaff was around 1976 when Heighway was on the wing for them;):lol::lol:

I grew up in Speke between the ages of 8-21 and I am struggling to remember many Blues outside my own family. It was the opposite when I lived in Everton as a young kid.

Oddly enough I have known more Blues across North Cheshire - Widnes/Runcorn/Warrington/Frodsham - since I moved out of the city, but I suppose it's logical after the clearance programmes in the 1960s and 1970s.

About this glory hunting thing. Can we really call supporting a club, that's only won one league title in the last thirty four years glory hunting?
