Is South Liverpool The RS Part Of The City?

About this glory hunting thing. Can we really call supporting a club, that's only won one league title in the last thirty four years glory hunting?

They have won 5 major trophies in the past 5 years (1 League, 1 champs League, 1 FA Cup and 2 League Cups)

Even when they were on their long drought for a league title they were still winning major trophies and qualifying for Champions League more often than not.

If they had properly fallen off like we did after the 80s then they wouldn't have anywhere near as many glory hunters, once you're outside the top 4 (or now the rebranded top 6) for a sustained period of time (a decade or longer) the glory hunters aren't arsed,

The way i see it they have only been winning trophies in dribs and drabs post 1990.

The rs no longer have things like they used to, but they do keep the honours list ticking over every couple of years, in a way that does maintain the sense of self importance amongst their supporters!

For a club with high notions of itself having the same amount of Premier League titles as Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City is kind of embarrassing imo.

You should be grateful of that because it has kept their numbers down. When I went to school in the 70s, my class was pretty evenly split between City and Utd. By the time my lad was at school in the late 90s he was the only City fan in his class.
This is why some of our fans don't get it for me when they criticise fans who on occasions would rather lose a match than help them win a trophy.
Every time they lift a trophy it makes it harder for our kids and grandkids having to face being mocked called RS supporters who never go near Anfield .
Best of luck with hearing mate hope you get off on all charges.

My Dad went to Booker Avenue and St Margarets in Aigburth in the 1960's and was massively outnumbered from what he tells me.

Whenever I am over in Liverpool it annoys me how they always have far more of a "presence" with their banners and flags flying from houses and pubs etc. I'm sure it will be down to recent success as our fans would be doing the same if we'd recently won a Cup, but the Everton presence feels reduced year by year.

Seems to be the same in North and South Liverpool.

Does the Everton support really rival theirs in North Liverpool? Close to equal?

Anyone who permanently has a football flag hanging from their house is a bad bad scruff btw.

Approx 5700 'L' post code ST holders isnt it - and thats a way bigger area than just S Lpool

It's less than that. They had a game during covid where 10% of tickets could be sold, so they had 5700 of them going. But due to restrictions of locality, they had less that 3k go. At least that's what I remember.

Evertons went to ballot, and only 25% of those who applied got in.

At least that's how I remember it.

Having used a well known search engine, I was wrong and you were right @degsy .

Turns out that in 2020, they had 5832 STH with an L postcode. There was room for 6k seats, they all had one without ballot.

Liverpool fans are far bigger glory hunters than United, TBF to United they got huge attendances when.tjey are crap in 70s and 80s, not to say you don't have loads of glory hunters since 90s. But Liverpool fans are on another level, they are nowhere to be seen when they lose.
