Let down by the club? He was given a monster contract renewal for sweet FA. The club has been too good to him, that's the problem.

Yeah thats another way he has been let down, that has caused him more problems with the fans, "he gets paid too much for strolling about". Listen I have no idea what or how he is helped at training but why not tell him to concentrate on one role? Maybe they do I dont know. I do know that at most peoples jobs they offer help to make you better.

I can definitely make a recommendation for one role for him if you like?

One of our biggest problem for the last few years is handing players long term contracts with no basis to do so. Davies 5 year extension. Pickford given a new contract in his first season. Coleman given a 5 year extension week after his leg was snapped in half.

I think we really have to try and get our heads around the fact that this team will not be fixed in 7 weeks.
We are way off top six pace and as Ancelotti works to improve us, other teams are doing the same and most will have managers who are further into their team build.
Personally I expect no great improvement in our final position next season but I do expect to see some improvement in team performance by the seasons end.
Anything more is expecting miracles and while our manager is good he ain’t the messiah.

Worrying though that we couldn't beat the Bournemouth high press...

Got caught time after time, when a long ball through to Kean,Walcott or Richarlison was an instant attack it baffles me why we don't vary it...

We would have been far more effective...

I think that is more likely than my hopeful post, although I still believe if we get this window right we could see a bigger improvement that we believe is possible.

Set your expectation low....

You can’t be disappointed then.

Id expect 2-3 of Mina, Sigurdsson, Davies, Pickford, Walcott, Bernard to be out.
I’d expect a couple of midfielders a defender and an attacker in.
Ideally, we get a goalie too, but don’t think we will.

It seems like another season of underachieving and over paid ineptness (and it was) but we have seen the emergence of what looks like two great players in Gordon and Branthwaite and we now have a world class manager who seems to be backed by the board (the next few weeks will really show).

Imagine we get some quality cover for Digne?
Imagine the board actually backing Carlo?
Imagine getting a world class right sided attacker?
Imagine Moise Kean turning in to the next Rom?
Imagine getting some steel in midfield, maybe even Gbamin?
Imagine less injuries?

Even if only one or two of those happen we have a real chance at top 6 if not 4 with a lot of luck.

Listen Im not some Everton supporting noob who gets carried away when a great manager flashes his eye lashes at us, but even though this season was dire I feel like we actually have something good starting here. Now listen haters gonna hate but Im genuinely interested (note I didnt say, excited, happy or hopefull - quick roads to disappointment, sadness and despair) to see what the next few weeks and season might bring.

It's true even if you are carried away -
we have never had anyone like Ancelotti, with money and a stadium on its way, and we have got 6-7 good players, around 5 decent players and a load of crap after that. Its worth getting more excited now, because the only comparison is the summer after Roberto's year 1, and the summer with all the signings (Keane, Pickford, Rooney etc...but that also slowly went pear shaped when we saw the pre-season friendlies and Rooney/Klassen/Siggy/Barkley?!! whaa?)

It's definitely not all that bad. We can definitely expect better than the last managers.
