It is reasonable to assume he would have been party to inside information for these teams that the average punter was not, irrespective of whether he was in the match day squad or not.

And what sort of inside info would enable him to influence the result?

Why have you chosen this random hill to die on anyway?

It's a thread about someone found guilty of breaking the rules of the game and you're sat here (on an Everton forum no less) defending him lol Not arsed if they ban him for 7 lifetimes - rules are rules, he broke them (hundreds of times at that lol ), he's getting punished, pretty much the end of it.

All a bit kopite to defend him, not gonna lie

The bloke cheated and has used inside information to cheat for potential monetary gain numerous times.

Not only going against the spirit of the game but for his own personal gain

Not to mention his bets potentially affecting the odds for anyone else -- who, could also be considered victims if thats the case.

The ban should be for years or a lifetime.
 
Judging from what he said on the diary of a ceo YouTube channel today, this fella hasn’t learned a thing and is still trying to justify his betting.

Don’t know what professional help he’s been getting, don’t think it’s working.

Probably because he was allowed to continue playing for so long after the allegations, as I’m sure Paqueta will be.

The ban wasn’t long or tough enough imo and the problem probably runs much deeper in the game with many players at it - an absolute mess, which the fa, premier league and players unions have handled terribly.
