2023/24 Jack Harrison

I don’t think it’s so much about whether Jack Harrison is an average premier league right winger or an excellent premier league right winger. It’s the fact that he’s a premier league level right winger that makes all the difference.

When you don’t have 1 (yes one) at all in the squad it’s another glaring hole filled.

We’re now getting close to putting out a balanced team of 11 competent players, some of whom are very good on their day (DCL, McNeil, Beto as examples) all playing in their correct positions.

Last year’s games vs Arsenal, Brighton, Leicester, Wolves (1st half up until the injuries) are examples of what we’re capable of when that happens.

Shame he’s a left winger.

I'm looking forward to some quality balls into the box for Danjuma and Beto to attack.

….played from the right last night, not a conventional winger based on that display. Finds himself in central positions or cuts in.

My main concern is us missing Iwobi’s running power in possession. He helps transition from back to front, noticeable we’ve had to revert to going long this season to isolated forwards. I’d hope Harrison can go some way to filling that void but time will tell.

He needs to be our saviour. We need quality crosses and about five goals from his this season. Same from McNeil, plus another 6-7 goals from 'juma. No reason any of them cannot achieve that.

DCL and Beto need to be getting 8-12 goals each as well.

Harrison will fill an Iwobi shaped hole in this team for sure in terms of work rate. His fitness is key to that.

I think McNeil stays on the left and playing him on the right is within his scope but maybe could limit his impact.

It'll be interesting how he copes with the different personnel at RB he's likely to need to acclimatise to all season.

Wouldn't mind seeing him play a more central attacking midfield role with mcneil on left and danjouma on right.
That's if dyche can get his head away from playing 3 defensive midfielders all the time.

To me I'd play him on the right, he has played for Leeds on the right before and pointedly played their for the reserves last night. Keep McNeil on the left were he's better and Danjuma behind the striker unsure we could have a formation that could play that, maybe play Harrison and McNeil as wingbacks?
