2024/25 Jack Harrison

I find it increasingly difficult to judge any forward players under this manager.
He’s an attacker who is most likely terrified to attack / or already got his mind on defending when he does get forward, for fear of being dropped.

Really bad this season, aside from the hard work. He does get into his defensive shape at great speed, compared to some who saunter back. He is very diligent.

Something he should probably be commended for is never once leaking or hinting something like “I’m crap on the right but will do whatever the team needs.” At the very least he might shift the ball onto his left foot and fizz early balls in behind the defence, if he was played on the opposite wing. McNeil being out would seem a chance to do this, stick Ndiaye in the middle. But no. Need to shoehorn Doucs in.

If we are in the market for a right winger, he shouldn’t be anywhere near the shortlist.

Brought down a long ball and beat his man all with his first touch, then proceeds to pass it to DCL's left when he was clearly making a run to the right.

And that's the best thing he did all game.

I can't believe he is getting paid for the job he does.

imagine saying to your dad when your young, "Dad i want to play on the wing" Dad says "son you need to have pace to play there", and attack the opposition.

I think he only went in their half once, when he controlled it went forward 4 yards then passed it the other side where DCL was 10 seconds earlier 🤔

….its just an incredible view. Perhaps Harrison is just another very mediocre player Dyche has to select from.

It’s not like Harrison shows any aptitude to go past a defender, he can’t outrun them, he relies on getting the ball in space and delivering. If he showed attacking capability and clearly being stifled then the criticism is justified but I’m afraid he’s just another acquisition that isn’t good enough.

Selection and tactics are Dyche’s remit (and I agree it’s not good) but perhaps our player acquisitions are also to blame. Dyche again criticising our lack of attacking quality in his post-match interview might just be accurate.

Maybe, but his goals / goal contributions are markedly worse here than they were at Leeds (including in prem).
I fear we’ll be saying the same sort of stuff about Ndaiye soon enough, once Dyche had destroyed the best attacking attributes he has. 🤷‍♂️

Didn't deserve to start, rightfully hooked after an hour. Surely he only starts in emergencies from here on in. I'd go as far as to say if we can sign a winger in January we should send Harrison back, that's how bad he's been.

….in general our loanees have been as mediocre as our permanent signings (fingers crossed Broja, Lindstrom and Mangala buck that trend) but sadly I doubt we can simply send players back because they’re not very good.

I was reminded yesterday of the times we brought in a winger like Deulofeu on loan :(

He certainly in a time delay the rest of universe is not experiencing. Still had he put DLC through his head would have fell off taking the shot.
