It makes sense as long as the terms of the deal are similar and affordable. If Villa want more than they paid for a player who they haven't used, then the deal doesn't make sense for us.To be fair, if he was our #1 winger target 6 months ago, but we couldn't get him, but now can, is circling back a bad thing?
From what I remember, he's quick enough like. Technically good with the ball as well.Wait, is he fast or another winger we seem to love to buy who runs like they are in quick sand getting nowhere fast.
crying out for pace here

He can sit on the bench next to O’Brien trying to get Premier league fit
I'd say not if the scouts actually liked him. I wouldn't want their judgement deterred by 6 quiet months. To be fair, if he was our #1 winger target 6 months ago, but we couldn't get him, but now can, is circling back a bad thing?
To be honest he'll probably do well under Dyche and it could be what he needs - playing as a winger and detailed with getting the ball into Calvert-Lewin who whoever. Its just not what's required of him at Villa, so probably feels its a struggle not being asked to do what feels natural to him. As for the fee, I don't know, we won't know what else is in the contract (sell on and all that), but if it was straight cash probably look to get our money back.

But if he wasn't our #1 and it was more a best availible due to circumstances signing then it'd be concerning.
We've seen it both ways and I'm still not sure what camp this lad falls in.
He's played on the right and hasn't been on the left at all - that's Rogers' area, and when he's more central then either McGinn or Ramsey will fill that space. The system I refer to is that the wide right player has to do a lot of defensive work and then when we transition we don't do it to a point where a winger let's say can go flying down the line with only one or two players with him. So, he's more likely to have to check back, recycle, and bring more players into the attack. That's specific to the right as our attacks tend to be more left focussed with Digne getting high up the pitch and overloads created there. The right-back is very rarely involved in the attack which means the right winger/midfielder gets little support on the ball in attacking areas (when transitioning).Nice one mate. We were linked in the summer along with you guys and obviously ended up there.
Out of interest, how was he 'lost in the system' for you? what was expected of him that was perhaps a bit out of his comfort zone compared to how he was used at Hull? Also - was he used mainly on the left or the right?
On both occasions he has been with us he has played only on the right.£13mil would make sense on a 5 year deal, £2.6mil a year for PSR which would probably be covered with Beto's loan fee.
Is he better on the left or right? Seems like a right footed left winger...but i think in the summer i may have thought he was two footed
Gone early on this gaffer...Stinks of an Ipswich Gazumping.
