He was a great prospect when he burst into the Villa first team squad and started to get games coming off the bench three seasons ago now. Emery wanted to keep him but he wanted more first team football so went off to Hull where he did well and we got him back. This season he has struggled though and funnily enough his only decent performance was against Bayern, so it shows he does have it in him. He just hasn't played well and seems to be lost in the system rather than suddenly becoming a poor player. Emery asks his wide players to do a specific job which doesn't always mean just take a player on (which he hasn't done much of). There's a player there without doubt but he just hasn't settled back into Villa well enough and with Bailey also struggling a change is needed.

Not a bad signing as long as we sell them one of our squad players for the price we pay them for him.

As you say, if this is a PSR gimmick and one of ours is going to them to enable us to sign a couple this window....YES.

If its just a straight signing of a player who rejected us in the last window and who has flopped during that period then its not thrilling.

We haven't got anyone from the academy to go the other way.

How far do you think he could go with the 'right' manager? Are we talking England Squad potential or 'good' consistent premier league player?

Whats the highest fee that you be disappointed with?

One good season in the championship, and primarily a left winger when we need a right winger. Anonymous for villa in the pl this season...if that's the level of signing we are in for, then nothing has changed.
Played more on the left than right for Hull in his big season there, but can play on both wings.
