Jagielka: There could be 'double figures' leaving Goodison this summer

“There is going to be a lot of change in the playing squad. I am not sure the squad is going to be big enough for the start of next season with the people who are leaving.

“It is a case of the club deciding what sort of squad and formula they want to go for both on the pitch and off the pitch. That will determine what manager they want.

“I am not sure exactly what will go on but there could be double figures leaving, which is a lot.

“We are not talking about young lads either. We are talking about established first-team players.”

Thoughts?

Made up to be honest. We've needed to do this for about 4 years.

As long as they are not our best players NEA. Replace them and improve the squad.

The likes of Howard, Osman, Hibbert, Gibson, Pienaar, McGeady and fingers crossed Kone will not be missed on the pitch.

Howard-Gone

Hibbert, Gibson, Osman, Pienaar-Out of contract

McGeady, Kone, McAleny-Not good enough

Stones, Lukaku, Mirallas-want away

That's 11 and not even sure what they'll do with Niasse.

One of Baines, Oviedo and Garbutt will leave.

Jagielka and Barry it will probably be there last season's.

Big job for the new manager but at least it means he'll have his own players from the start.

More or less the same opinion with the rest.

Leaving/released-

Hibbert - been past it for a long time and injured for most of the time. He will retire.
Gibson - can't stay fit, ever...club like Sunderland will take a chance?
Osman - been past it like Hibbert but he will move to a Championship club to keep on playing.
Piennar - aging and will move back to SA.
Howard - age is catching up Howie and will move back to the US. Confimed.

Will be sold probably-

McGeady - hope Sheff Wed will sign him.
Kone - crap and won't raise much fee.
Niasse - sell him back to Russia and looks like we will lose a couple of millions.
Garbutt - won't start for Fulham...shall we cashing in or sell Oviedo instead? Both are playing as backup to Baines.
McAleny - may be not good enough. He is older than Lukaku. Cashing in.

That's 10 players.

Keep Stones and Lukaku. Convince them we are building on great things.

hope we keep Stones, Ross, Galloway, Geri, Rom, Besic, Mori for starters, the young blood.

I think Barry's season defied logic & would definitely manage another.

Of the youngsters that are around the fringes like Galloway, Browning that when have come in have proved they are capable I wouldn't be looking to get rid, anyone in that situation if more experience is sought or even cos they are getting down by never playing I'd be looking at finding them a loan that is gonna suit them, us & the way we are going to be set up etc.. not just oh heres a loan offer... go and play some matches lad. In the way that Barca matched Geri to us.

As for getting rid there are players that have been fantastic Blues but sentiment cant play a part, certainly not when they are earning big wages as well, keeping them around the squad for 'their influence in training' isn't something that they should be taking home players wages for with a couple of cameos through the season where they look rusty & off the pace.
