Confirmed Signing James Garner

We’re really needing a set piece specialist. Goals look like they’ll be hard to come by this season. Worse teams than us have stayed in the league and relied on set piece goals when open play goals were at a premium. No teams stay up when they don’t score many from open play and don’t have a real threat from set pieces. We’ve lost Digne, Siggi and James recently- that’s quality delivery, needs replaced. Set piece goals could be vital this year.

A fee only rising to 15 million makes this a home run no brainer of a transfer. 21 until the back end of the season, championship team of the year, 2 years on contract. If he was contracted to forest instead of united we would be looking at 30-40 million for him. Hard to lose money on this deal and we should be doing more deals like this scalping the big clubs prospects at around 20

He's got a bit of everything: good range of passing, strong in the tackle, can run with the ball, excellent at set pieces. He is also tall and rangey.

His two biggest drawbacks is that he has a tendency to get bundled off the ball in shoulder to shoulder battles and still needs to work on his positioning a bit. But these are the kinds of drawbacks that young players can easily improve if given game time. Think he'll be a great signing for us, personally, as long as we don't put too much expectation on him too soon. Our other midfield signings and the resurgence of Iwobi should help with this aspect.

The club is never going to turn around the onfield and offield mediocrity until it commits to building a proper central defence (CBs and CMs) and a midfield that can both Defend and create and score goals in equal measure and quality. We wont move on until we do.
The days of a wing and a prayer on Sig, Gomes, James hoping to blind the cracks and the reek of fantasy football owners prematurity running the club - has got to stop.
Imo signing Garner would give the club a solid about face.

All for depth, but surely if this comes off we can’t have Garner, Gana, Warrington, Gomes, Allan, Tom, Doucoure, Onana all fighting for the privilege of playing alongside Ballon d’Or contender Alex Chuka Iwobi? Particularly given Onana will play when fit.

2 out of Allan, Gomes, Davies to go you would think (I think we know which one will stay here till he is 36). Can’t have Gomes swooning around FF all season with zero chance of ever playing.

Under Frank he can become a complete midfielder. The lad tackles like a demon, has good vision, pace and can slot as well.

He’s only 21 and a bit raw but you can see he’s a real talent.

Garner, Gordon, Onana = Some serious young talent.
