They used to say that about Steven Gerrard , but we all know he was far more dangerous in the Centre.

Hope Garner stays there.
I’m a firm believer that he should be primarily central. But injuries happen and if we have to go with an absolute crapper just to fill a role I’d rather just use Garner to paper over the cracks and get my best players on the pitch.

I understand that.
Shouldn't have to now Harrison & McNeill are fit.
I don't see Garner as a utility player tho.
My point is more that he is about as well rounded as I have seen here for a while. One thing that sticks out to me is how rapid he actually is. In the middle he was looking like prime Gana with some of his interceptions tonight. He just has it all

Could be a very shrewd acquisition. Thought he was very impressive, exciting prospect. Him, Onana, Branthwaite, Paterson - some promising young players there. If only we were in a position to build a team rather than sell if we receive a decent offer.

Yeah spot on mate he's quicker than you realise, but also the controlled aggression he shown tonight, we've missed that

He's quicker than i thought
He’s rapid. The team in the first half was the most mobile I’ve seen us for a long time. Garner was winning a lot of second ball as was Harrison and the pressing was excellent. Branthwaite, McNeil, Garner, Onana, Harrison is a good core of your, fit mobile players for the future. We must keep DCL fit. Beto is ok but DCL makes a big difference.
