I love players like Garner, the unsung heroes so to speak. they do a lot of water carrying in the middle, buzzing about breaking up play and starting off attacking moves. Nothing flashy but consistent. Teams need players like Garner, they keep things ticking over.

Not trying to be contradictory but I actually didn't think he offered much tonight. I'd like to see him try to grab the game by the scruff of the neck a bit more.

I know there's a lot of love for Garner in this forum but I'm just failing to see it. Tonight's a great example, so many waylaid passes, poor set pieces, balls back to the centre halves or goalkeeper.
He's a very average midfielder who hasn't kicked on at all since he signed.
