The reaction is because he was possibly our best player last season, many would have selected him anyway, he has had 4 games this season where has played average to poor to bad. 4 games only.
A comment in the already open McCarthy thread stating he was playing crap and hopefully he comes back to form would be reasonable, but you don´t think starting a new thread with this heading and that opening post is something a bit different and knee-jerky? I think people react the way they do to stuff like this because a lot of people don´t want the forum full of certain types of threads and posts that are getting all too common.
As a rule no player is immune to criticism. Can we apply a rule to posters saying no fuming, over-analysing and freaking out until we get at least ten games in? (I personally wouldn´t even start worrying if he did continue his poor form for that long. it happens)
I don't get it!! Is he off form or what? It seems to the majority that he is. Do we really have to wait till 10 games before we can say a player is off form so its not classed as knee jerk. Simply put, at present he is off form no questions asked. I really don't see the knee jerkness in saying that.
I think a new thread was opened because it is simply about his form and I don't think just going to a McCarthy thread of age is the right way of doing it. Rather have a new thread on current matters, hence this one regarding his form after several games. If after 10 games his form is back then all well and good but at the moment he is not very good which is concerning fans. Is that wrong to wonder why?
Apart from Mirallas, who has been though ?
Why isn't the Baines, Coleman, Barry, Lukaku, McGeady threads etc not on the first page ?
Its a simple case of ' we haven't moaned about McCarthy yet '. Apart from that error at the end of the game, i thought Mccarthy was fine. Him AND Barry were fine. I was quite pleased with the second half performance from the lads.
You honestly think that his performance against WBA was that horrendous ?I have seen all concerns about the above mentioned barring Coleman but looking at it I would say its because the above have improved whereas McCarthy hasn't. At the moment the above are heading towards form but McCarthy is not showing the signs yet therefore he is currently a greater concern thus page 1 and current topic.

4/6 50-50 balls lost
