Don't post much on here but to echo some posts I have seen, Darron Gibson ain't living the lifestyle, my mate seen him in a local pub two weeks ago absolutely hammered and acting the big I AM.

McCarthy looks to be a different animal all together.

Why is it when one of our players is doing well in a position we have to slag off our other players who play in that position? seems odd.

Feel a bit sorry for the lad if that is the case - or as sorry as you can for someone making so much money!

But money isn't everything and iirc he was a passionate blue - doesn't he have an Everton tattoo?
It wasn't the typically unpleasant choice that young d***ead footballers have to make, when the contrast between football and money is stark and unavoidable. Scott Sinclair went from star of the Swansea team and England call-up to rotting in City's reserves; Zaha went from star of promoted Palace and an England call-up to rotting in United's reserves. Rodwell went from one physio room and one sub's bench to another physio room and sub's bench. He didn't prejudice our success by depriving us of his services, always the most bitter loss in any big-name sale but wheras Rooney, Lescott and Arterta were their respective team's fulcrum, Rodwell was a squad player as it stood. £12m was excellent business.

Strange selection that was bearing in mind he and Barry are the core of our good defensive record this season.

He took the game for granted - as someone said earlier, he expected Palace to camp the defence, but he clearly underestimated the counter attack, and we didn't have the dynamism of McCarthy to break them up and keep things ticking.

He's a massive player for us and dropping him for tonight was a tactical error IMO.
