James McCarthy

I see the star are angling towards McCarthy moving away from us

"Everton risk losing Scotland midfielder James McCarthy as they stall over talks about a new deal."

It's a load of rubbish. It has been well documented that contract renewal talks with McCarthy will only begin when he plays a certain number of games. The exact same thing happened with John Stones - he played a certain number of games and it was built into his previous deal that he'd get a hefty pay rise and new deal if all the conditions were met.

McCarthy will pick up, of that I'm certain. He was so consistently brilliant last season that I think the slow start has rattled him a bit. But like Barry and Jagielka in that second half who all of a sudden played like their old selves, McCarthy will do the same against Palace.

I say Palace as who knows who Bobby will play in Europe. Might change it up completely with Gibson/Besic in the middle.

haven't seen the WBA game but he was quite bad in the Arsenal and Chelsea games ... looked distinctly average playing for the ROI too .. a short period warming the bench should give him the perspective and impetus to get his shet together.

He is reportedly having problems with blisters on his feet, he was rested for the Ireland friendly for that reason and it probably contributed to why he was played higher up the field in the Geogia game with less running required.

Very much doubt it is anything to do with his mentality - McCarthy is the the type to drive himself into the ground for his team and last year he was probably our most consistent performer.

Just saw these "transfer news"
Lol

Btw he has still 3 season in his contract? Or two?
Allegedly he was promised certain pay rises if he reached certain goals etc and it was said that he said he has achieved these, therefore he is unhappy with the delay of the improved contract.

disclaimer.....only saying what was said on the internet.

bit of time off to deal with the blisters should work on several levels then.

currently he reminds me of Gravesen only with less enthusiasm.
