The thing I like about him is that he's not snidey at all. He just does his job wonderfully well. Fantastic player.

...I think he's trying to add goals, look at Osman's goal and notice McCarthy busting a gut to get into the box. I reckon he's the type who will get us an important goal, one when we most need it. He'll make it happen by throwing himself in there to score.

Been Irish I love this scottish export!!! Hes a warrior and fittist player Iv seen getting around the park for 90mins. Calls on here to drop him start of the season which I argued as total nonsense. Our most important player . Just love for him to take more chances going forward to get goals.

He reminds me of Joe Parkinson. What a player he was and how sad that his career was cut woefully short by injury.
Hopefully McCarthy will have a long lasting presence in the Everton midfield, and as I stated earlier, he would make an excellent Captain who leads on the pitch.
