I distinctly remember that within hours of Barkley signing his new contract in the summer, there were stories emerging of McCarthy wanting a new contract and then being linked with a move to United. Given the similar age/position between Barkley and McCarthy if there's animosity it's more likely there than with Barry.

I don't think they're quite the same plus he's flying high at the moment ever since his games in the Europa league.

Kane seems to be someone suited playing further forward while Barkley more in the center.
