Yeah, if you don't like short passes, perhaps a Martinez-led Everton aren't for you.

They certainly serve a purpose.

Perhaps it's possible to not like only short passes?

You know, the type of thing we've laughed at Joe Allen for last year and Brendan Rodgers for his "philosophee"?

Anything's possible.

I'm not sure who "we" is. I think Joe Allen is a very good midfielder. Who can choke on it.

Yeah, I'm negative...

Get lost lad.

Yep! Fiirst I ever seen of you on this forum was you moaning about a performance after we'd just beat Citeh at their place.

Here's a few quotes (paraphrased) ... "The only good thing about Martinez is we might get McCarthy" "I'm not basing it on 20 minutes, I'm basing it on concerns I've had watching him for 4 years in the prem"

You were the same with Moyes; you damn them with faint praise, but are the first to moan and criticise when there's nothing to moan about. And no I won't get lost. Then again, you could always ban me, init?

1 - Paraphrased wrong. I like Martinez, full stop.

Nothing against Mackay and Martinez really (I actually like both managers)

2. I rate McCarthy. I have praised him far more than I've said anything negative about him. Like any player, you judge them to have strengths and weaknesses after watching them regularly.

He´s a top young player, very able, giving us depth in central midfield in case of the disastrous scenario where Marouane Fellaini leaves for shores anew.

3. I criticised Moyes regularly and consistently, with reason. Reasons, by the way, that a lot are now agreeing with in retrospect - the only difference is that I said it whilst he was actually our manager.

4. "Damn them with faint praise" makes no sense whatsoever.

5. I can't ban you, I'm not a moderator, never have been.

So... yeah... 100% wrong. Again. All you've done there is confirm you have a prejudice against me as a poster on here based on a post from 2011 rather than picking me up on what I'm actually saying right now in 2013.

So that being the case, I'll say it again - get lost.

I've seen some of the best midfielders in the world, make simple short passes at times. To criticise McCarthy for doing that in his 20 minute cameo when he just come on, and state you don't want "to see him do that again", is quite frankly embarrassing.

Yes, I'm sure that you, paragon of fairness, has never criticized Joe Allen for that very reason, or indeed commented on any players aspects of play during an Everton game.

All hail the king of reason FFS.

I still can't understand how you think his performance on Sat backs up fears you had about him that he is a Joe Allen type crab.

To be honest it really does seem that you have a pre concieved notion of him as a player so were looking for any possible part of his game to back that notion up regardless of whther its actually correct or not.

Which i think is odd because you're not that kind of guy. To be honest i have similar fears about what kind of player MCCarthy is but his display in 25 mins on Sat did not back it up.

Examples : the headed pass to Barkley rather than contorlling it and running at the defense : nothing wrong with the idea, just poor executuon. Win the ball, pass to an attacking player and hold your ground when defending a lead against Chelsea.

The through ball to Mirallas that didn't come off : again, nice idea, forward incisive passing but got read and cut out. Joe Allen in both those instances would have turned backwards and passed to a defender right?

I watched the game again earlier and didn't see a 1 yard pass to Osman so can't judge that.

So yeah, i have similar worries to you as to how McCarthy plays but i think your anaysis of his game on Sat is wrong. As does pretty much every other member of the clique :D

fellaini when he came was complete 5hite IMO for about 18 months.

Fans were right to argue about that one because 18 months is enough time to base an opinion on.

20 minutes is genuinely mental. There should be no argument because there shouldnt be any judgement.
A molecule of sense in an ocean of madness. + rep delivered.

Death, sorry on phone, cba typing the same thing again, but in a nutshell not criticising the performance, just specific aspects of play, no preconceived notion as I rate the player, analysis of game isn't wrong as the instances described happened, only difference is interpretation of what it meant.

Please feel free to read back for my proper posts, which unfortunately nobody is actually doing.
