No, was one of our best players last weekend.Have to giggle at all the comments after today's debacle.
I've been saying it for a year now that if we are to get to where we want to he isn't good enough....and been called many things for voicing my opinion.
Can we finally put it to rest?
This post literally makes no sense.Don't worry, someone will be along soon to tell us we don't appreciate what he does for the team.
He stops counters apparently. Evidently not particularly well judging by the amount of goals we concede that way, but he does it. And he runs, there's no denying the lad runs. Usually away from the ball as far as I can tell. He made 5 tackles last week, which is more than Chelsea's midfielders put together, cos he's pyar boss. It's possible that one of the reasons for that is that chelsea have footballers in the midfield and we have, well, him, but still what a stat.
Off topic, reported. This post literally makes no sense.
It's very much on topic.Off topic, reported.
I was just messing about mate, but if you insist I will argue. It's very much on topic.
You're trying to belittle a good game, proved both by eyes and stats, by saying that Chelsea have footballers.
It makes no sense.
McCarthy was poor today, granted, but that doesn't retrospectively change past games.
Although I disagree, you make your point well.I was just messing about mate, but if you insist I will argue.
I'm not belittling him or retrospectively changing anything. I've said numerous times on here that I'm not claiming he's useless, in certain scenarios he's very useful. Namely situations where we have limited attacks and he can just hate round the midfield clattering people. I love him in those games, and praise him to the hilt. A lot of people used the chelsea star as 'proof' though - like you just said- that he's comparable to patently better players because he tackled more than them. My opinion is that there is less need for central midfielders to tackle against us, as their opposite numbers offer extraordinarily little attacking threat. I think McCarthy is very very limited, and I think he is content to take the easy option and hide rather than attempting to influence games. I don't like that trait at all.
to be fair, Im not sure there is a player that's on Barry's level when it comes to reading a game.Imagine thinking this guy does a good job at protecting the defence. Simply running around a lot does nothing for me. Couldn't lace Barry's boots.
has he actually got a forward pass in him? repeatedly slows us down, loses momentum, over rated as a footballer, great as a tacklerNot playing well at the moment no doubt about it.
